Governance
Constitution and Canons
Our Constitution and Canons are the governing documents of our diocese. They are the set of rules or laws by which we organize ourselves and conduct the business of the church.
Regional Collaboratives
Starting in 2023, the Dioceses of Eastern and Western Michigan were organized into three regional “collaboratives” for continued relationship, collaboration, and programming.
All the Baptized
The Episcopal Church is a church led by all orders of ministry – Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and Lay people. Every decision from the local congregation to the churchwide denomination is made by groups of people informed by prayer, worship, and experience.
In our diocese, our leadership is composed of our Bishop, Diocesan Council, and Standing Committee with the support of several committees from the Commission on Ministry to the Finance Committee and Trustees. Each group is made up of individuals – both clergy and lay – from across our diocese.
If you feel called to take on a leadership position in our diocese, contact one of our regional Canon Missioners to see where your skills may fit.
