YOU’RE INVITED
We have been invited to dance, y’all.
In this video announcement and in my address at October’s Diocesan Convention, I invited our diocese to begin a process of discernment around our relationship with our neighbor on the Eastern coast of the lower peninsula – the Episcopal Diocese of Eastern Michigan.
This year’s Bishop Workshops will be a little bit different than previous gatherings. We are going to spend some time learning and listening, joined by friends from our neighboring diocese. We also will spend some time in prayer and worship, because it is at the core of who we are. And we will spend some time in discussion, imagining what it may be like to dive into intentional conversation with our friends to the East and to share a bishop (me) during that time.
This is an exciting time to be an Episcopalian and an Episcopalian in this place. Please register and join us at one of the regional gatherings listed below.
Peace,
The Rt. Rev. Whayne M. Hougland, Jr.
IX Bishop, The Episcopal Diocese of Western Michigan
