Episcopal Church Women's Prayer:

Almighty God, we pray that you will bless our work in mission and ministry in the world.
Help us to pray fervently, labor diligently and give liberally to make known the power of
your love given through your son, Jesus. Let us not forget the lessons from the past nor
fear the challenges of the future. Anoint us with your grace and shine in our hearts as
we reflect your light throughout the world. Amen.

  ECW Annual Meeting

The Church of the Mediator in Harbert (click here for map) will host the 136th Annual Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women in the Diocese of Western Michigan which will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We look forward to spending the day looking at how we can be thankful in our lives every day. The cost of $35 per person includes a continental breakfast and lunch. The keynote speaker will be Susan O'Brien, National President of the Order of the Daughters of the King. There will be a breakout session about how the United Thank Offering can be a daily reminder of being thankful which will be led by Gail Donovan, Diocesan UTO Chair. Another breakout session will be about how prayer, service, and evangelism can deepen your spiritual lives and will be led by the Lambs of God Chapter of the Daughters of the King. We will be taking up a collection at the Eucharist for the UTO.

Questions can be directed to Marilee Roth at mroth@lakelandhealth.org. Click here to upload the registration form and flyer.

  ECW Outreach Booklet

Episcopal Church Women has published the updated ECW Outreach Booklet, and distributed to all delegates, alternates and clergy of the 142nd EDWM Convention November 4-5, 2016 in Battle Creek.

Char Camfield, longtime president of the diocesan chapter of ECW, envisioned updating the outreach booklet, which hadn't been done since 2008.

It was important to her to acknowledge the contributions of parishes to their communities. New ideas can be shared among parishes. Crossing denominational boundaries develops other relationships in communities. No matter how small the effort, seeds can be planted that might grow into wonderful undertakings in communities.

Char said, "The seed planted today just might become a plant in another garden during the next season!"
– Char Camfield, 1938-2016

Hymn of the Episcopal Church Women

God of the Women
SLANE ( ("Be Thou My Vision")
God of the women who answered your call,
Trusting your promises, giving their all,
Women like Sarah and Hannah and Ruth —
Give us their courage to live in your truth.
God of the women who walked Jesus' Way,
Giving their resources, learning to pray,
Mary, Joanna, Susanna, and more —
May we give freely as they did before.
God of the women long put to the test,
Left out of stories, forgotten, oppressed,
Quietly asking: "Who smiled at my birth?" —
In Jesus' dying you show us our worth.
God of the women who ran from the tomb,
Prayed with the others in that upper room,
Then felt your Spirit on Pentecost Day —
May we so gladly proclaim you today.
O God of Phoebe and ministers all,
May we be joyful in answering your call.
Give us the strength of your Spirit so near
That we may share in your ministry here.
