Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Let us gather together in celebration of the life we have together in this diocese at the 134th Convention, which takes place on April 25-26, 2008 in Traverse City.

In accordance with the Canons of the Diocese of Western Michigan (Title I, Canon 2, Section 3), you are hereby notified of the 134th Annual Convention of the Diocese of Western Michigan, which will be held in Traverse City, Michigan on Friday April 25-Saturday April 26, 2008 the Right Reverend Robert R. Gepert presiding.


The Convention will be held at the Park Place Hotel, Traverse City, Michigan. Convention convenes at 10:00 am Friday.
Child care will be provided for preschool age children (see Note) for children of Delegates and Alternates during the Business Sessions. Please check the box on the registration form if you need child care.
NOTE: Parents of children will need to provide their own snacks, bottles, bottle warmer, toys, and blankets.  This year’s registration form includes meal reservations. The diocese is unable to underwrite the cost of convention;  therefore the registration fee reflects the actual cost of convention for delegates, alternates, and visitors. We ask that a
registration form be filled out for each attendee (including  spouses/partners), and meal reservations for all who are planning to eat there, but that one check, from the parish, be sent to cover the cost of all attendees from that parish. We will require that registration forms and a parish check be returned to the diocesan office by April 1, 2008. It is our goal that delegates and visitors feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. Please list on your registration form any special needs, such as hearing and vision impairments,or dietary needs so that we may accommodate you.

There are a number of housing options available and it will be the responsibility of each parish to make its own accommodation arrangements. A block of rooms is being held at the Park Place Hotel and the Hampton Inn. Hotel information is included in this packet. Please contact the hotel directly for room reservations.
Clergy and/or senior wardens are asked to please review the delegate list that was submitted by your parish. Any changes that occur must be reported by way of the Change of Delegate Form, available on the diocesan website. Change of Delegate requires two signatures and must be dated. Please submit a form any time a change of delegate occurs.


Remember all resolutions and nominations must be submitted to the diocesan office by March 7. I look forward to seeing you at convention.
Please note the change of address for the Diocesan Center. All mailings returned to the new address will be processed
immediately upon receipt. Mail returned to our former office will be delayed, and could result in missed deadlines.
